In SriKrishna college , History subject was introduced as Bachelor of arts in 1958-59 and as Honours course in 1995-96. In session 2018-19 department got the opportunity to accept the revised syllabus for B.A Honours/ Programme course for Semester- wise CBCS curriculum. The new system with its choosing manner like Core Course (CC ), Elective Course viz Discipline Specific Elective Course (DSE), and Generic Elective Course (GE), Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course (AECC) and Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) opened a new horizon before the students to update their outlook about History. It is my aspiration that a bright future will welcome them.
Besides these smart class provided to the students for all through satisfaction. In 2018 wall magazine named “ Renaissance” has been inaugurated on regular basis. In 2019, it has come into existence with some reforms. But 2020, the department can’t able to run the same for the third time for covid 19 situation.

At present two sanctioned teaching posts both of them are Associate professors and four SACTs ( State Aided College Teacher) in our department.
Facilities :
The department has a laptop and enough reference books and periodical journals on history in our college library. One plus point of our department is students’ strength.
